The New Holland T6 Methane Power tractor provides the same 180 horsepower and 545 foot pounds of torque as the diesel equivalent but with a reduction in running costs of up to 30%. The Methane Power tractor can operate on either biomethane or compressed natural gas (CNG). The tractor’s maintenance is simplified with a three-way catalyst, avoiding complex exhaust treatment systems. Gas injectors and spark plugs take the place of diesel injectors, allowing gas to be introduced into every cylinder to maintain steady and clean combustion.
The T6 Methane Power tractor features a 6.7-liter, 6-cylinder NEF engine as well as 49-gallon gas tanks positioned in a similar location as diesel tanks for unobstructed visibility and access. The under-cab fuel storage is optimized to allow for standard tire sizes and track width configurations. A front-mounted range extender adds 71 gallons of capacity, and the tractor includes gas connection points for even more fuel storage options.
