{"id":3666,"date":"2025-01-23T18:05:50","date_gmt":"2025-01-24T00:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/equipmentcorner\/?p=3666"},"modified":"2026-03-04T00:42:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-04T06:42:24","slug":"2025-high-horsepower-tractor-guide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/equipmentcorner\/2025-high-horsepower-tractor-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 High-Horsepower Tractor Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 2023 after a short lull in the horsepower race we started to see engine ratings jump up again. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/case-ih\/model\/steiger-715\"><strong>Case IH\u2019s 715 Steiger Quadtrac<\/strong><\/a>, introduced late that year, briefly held the pole position in that race. But in 2024 John Deere blew well past the big Steiger with three new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/equipmentcorner\/model\/john-deere-9rx-series-tractors\/\"><strong>9RX models<\/strong><\/a>, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/john-deere\/model\/9rx-830\"><strong>9RX 830<\/strong><\/a> that hits the 830 horsepower mark, with a big, new 18 litre diesel under the hood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some MFWD high-horsepower tractor lines have seen modest horsepower increases in 2024, while others enter the 2025 model year mostly unchanged from 2023. Digital systems have now increasingly become standard equipment, with many brands even making those features available in some of their lower-horsepower model lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the significant reduction in commodity prices reducing net farm incomes, there\u2019s been a major global slowdown in demand from farmers for new tractors. Manufacturers have significantly cut back production at assembly plants and are focused on reducing unsold inventory to maintain profitability. That\u2019s a big change from the Covid years when farmers couldn\u2019t get their hands on a new tractor or combine even if they could afford one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"986\" height=\"361\" src=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-High-Horsepower-Tractor-Guide-Brands-986x361.jpg\" alt=\"2025 High-Horsepower Tractor Guide Brands\" class=\"wp-image-3677\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-High-Horsepower-Tractor-Guide-Brands-986x361.jpg 986w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-High-Horsepower-Tractor-Guide-Brands-768x281.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-High-Horsepower-Tractor-Guide-Brands.jpg 1094w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 986px) 100vw, 986px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">2025 High-Horsepower Tractor Guide Brands<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Highlights by Brand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Case IH:<\/strong> For a brief period in 2023, Case IH led the horsepower race with its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/case-ih\/model\/steiger-715\"><strong>715 Steiger Quadrac<\/strong><\/a>. The Steiger line was given an update that same year, and in 2024 saw the introduction of a new heavy-duty suspension system. The earlier introductions of the AFS Connect version of both the Steiger and Magnum lines brought improved levels of telematics capability and connectivity. 2024 Magnum updates include a bump up in horsepower ratings for the 2025 model year.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New Holland:<\/strong> New Holland showcased new models in 2023. Most notably, it pushed the horsepower limits of the T9 Series, with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/new-holland\/model\/t9655\">T9.655<\/a><\/strong> and boosting the flagship model, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/new-holland\/model\/t9700\"><strong>T9.700<\/strong><\/a> with 645 rated engine horsepower. The T9 SmarTrax versions were announced in early 2024 for the 2025 model year. T8 Series tractors get a five to 15 horsepower boost for 2025.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>John Deere:<\/strong> Deere made headlines in 2024 with the introduction of the largest production tractors on the market, the articulated 9RX 710,  9RX 770 and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/john-deere\/model\/9rx-830\">9RX 830<\/a><\/strong>, pushing rated engine horsepower to 830 in the flagship model. 2025 will be the first full production year for them.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Versatile:<\/strong> In April of last year Versatile announced, in conjunction with its technology partner Mojow, it had begun field testing an autonomous tractor on a Saskatchewan farm. The brand\u2019s existing tractor offerings carry their specifications forward from last year.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CLAAS:<\/strong> Claas\u2019 Axion 900 Series tractor line was first introduced to Canada in 2019, joining the two-model Xerion line of unique four-wheel drive tractors the brand had been offering. In 2022, the Axion 960TT Terra Trac half-track tractor joined the Canadian lineup. The latest offering from the brand is the 12 Series Xerions, which were first introduced in 2023. The basic tractor specifications for high-horsepower models carry forward for 2025.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Massey Ferguson: <\/strong>Over the past four years AGCO has been updating the MF tractor line with the newly-named S Series models. At Agritechnica 2023 it introduced the all-new 9S Series, which pushes at the top end of the horsepower range previously offered in the MF brand. In late 2024 the 9S Series debuted in North America and replace the 8700S models.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fendt:<\/strong> Arco\u2019s Fendt brand continues to grow market share across North America, and represents the company\u2019s premium equipment line. It offers both wheeled and two-track high-horsepower models. Agco expects to release \u201cOutrun\u201d, an autonomous retrofit kit that will be compatible with select Fendt models sometime this year. It will allow the tractors to pull a grain cart in the field without an operator.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deutz-Fahr:<\/strong> Germany-based Deutz-Fahr continues to offer its 300 horsepower 9340TTV Agrotron tractor in Canada. The low-revving Deutz diesel engine and a ZF-built CVT transmission remain the main driveline components for it for 2025. Basic specifications also carry over for 2025 models.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>JCB:<\/strong> JCB\u2019s line of high-speed Fastrac iCON ag tractors remains relatively unique in the industry. The improved connectivity and control given to them with the iCON update won the brand a prestigious Tractor of the Year award in Europe in the \u201cSustainable\u201d category in 2023. 2025 models continue to offer the same basic specifications as the previous model year.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>McCormick:<\/strong> The McCormick brand, now owned by ARGO of Italy, has one model available in Canada that tops the 300 horsepower mark, the X8.680. This MFWD model sports some high-end options and is fully compatible with ISOBUS controlled implements. The company hasn\u2019t announced any changes to the basic specifications for this model as we move into 2025.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MTZ:<\/strong> MTZ\u2019s Kirovets K-744 continues to be available as a low-cost, alternative to more familiar high-horsepower tractors, despite the war. Parts and tractor availability remains good, according to the Canadian distributor, even though MTZ tractors are built in Belarus and the Kirovets in Russia. The brand is also expects to soon begin production of three larger M8 models offering up to 620 horsepower. There are no specification updates to the K-744 for 2025.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Continue below for Scott&#8217;s full review by brand&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Case IH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In early 2020, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/case-ih\">Case IH<\/a><\/strong> introduced the updated AFS Connect Steiger tractor line, which was given a refresh in 2023, The current AFS Connect Magnums were first introduced in 2019. In 2021, the AFS Connect Optum line debuted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the AFS Connect Steigers are available in Quadtrac or wheeled versions, except the 715, which is Quadtrac only. The 425, 475 and 525 are also available in Rowtrac configurations. The 425 to 645 models get power from a 12.9 litre FPT diesel. Buyers get two transmission choices, the CVXDrive CVT or a 16F X 2R powershift. Both are 40 km\/h capable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/case-ih\/model\/steiger-715\"><strong>Steiger 715 Quadtrac<\/strong><\/a> uses a slightly larger track than the other Steiger models so it stands on a larger footprint. It gets power form a 16-litre FPT diesel and routes it through the brand\u2019s 16-speed PowerDrive transmission, giving it a top road speed of 26.5 m.p.h. (42 km\/h).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"986\" height=\"740\" src=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Case-IH-Steiger-715-Quadtrac-986x740.jpg\" alt=\"Case IH Steiger 715 Quadtrac\" class=\"wp-image-3680\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Case-IH-Steiger-715-Quadtrac-986x740.jpg 986w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Case-IH-Steiger-715-Quadtrac-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Case-IH-Steiger-715-Quadtrac-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Case-IH-Steiger-715-Quadtrac-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 986px) 100vw, 986px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Case IH Steiger 715 Quadtrac<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The AFS Connect Steigers offer up to 113 g.p.m. (427 l\/m) hydraulic flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2024 Case IH introduced the new Quadtrac Heavy-Duty Suspension (HDS) for Steigers. Built with a new suspended track design, the brand says HDS \u201celevates operator comfort and machine durability by significantly reducing shocks and jolts, while increasing productivity with faster transport speeds\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An AFS Pro 1200 display can allow for remote viewing from anywhere. The AFS Vision Pro operating system it uses is intuitive and similar to a smartphone or tablet. AFS Connect Steigers come standard with a subscription to the AFS Connect farm management portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2024, Case IH also unveiled its new 2025 model year Magnum tractor line. And In keeping with the industry trend of horsepower creep up, these tractors, too, see a few more ponies stabled under their hoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Magnum 380 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/case-ih\/model\/magnum-400-rowtrac\"><strong>Magnum 400<\/strong><\/a> both get five additional horsepower,\u201d said Morgan Dietrich, tractor segment lead for Case IH in North America. \u201cEverything else in the large frame, starting at 250 and larger, they get 15. Our number one seller is the 340. And that will now be a 355.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the tractors will still get that power from what the brand calls the Cursor 9-litre diesel, which, technically-speaking, actually has an 8.7-litre displacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 355 will also get a new transmission, a 21F x 5R power shift which will be included in its base equipment list. The new transmission offering will make the 355 compatible with future autonomous operating systems, by simplifying what\u2019s required to make that workable when Case IH eventually offers it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another significant change for the Magnums comes in how the brand will offer technology packages for them. Now, buyers can pick and chose their preferred individual features. But for 2025 digital features will come in two complete package options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the rear, the Magnums will adopt the hydraulic coupler design used on their larger brothers in the Steiger line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the two AFS Connect Optum models are at or above the 300 horsepower mark, the model 300 and the 340, which was new for the 2024 model year. They use an FPT 6.7 litre diesel. It uses a 50 km\/h capable CVXDrive CVT transmission. It offers a little lower hydraulic flow rate, with a standard 43.5 g.p.m. (166 l\/m), which can be upgraded to 58.9 g.p.m. (223 l\/m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Optums pack more horsepower into a smaller package with a lighter footprint than an equivalent Magnum. The 300 Optum weighs in on average with a standard front axle at 24,603 pounds (11,160 kilograms), compared to 28,800 pounds ( 13,082 kilograms) on the 310 Magnum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/listings\/manufacturer\/case-ih\/category\/tractors\/subcategory\/300-hp-or-greater\"><strong>See all Case IH High-Horsepower Tractors for sale<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Holland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the top of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/new-holland\"><strong>New Holland<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s tractor line is the T9 with PLM Intelligence Series. The latest model of those four-wheel drive T9s introduced in August of 2023 pushed at the upper horsepower limits of the line. The T9 SmarTrax versions were announced in early 2024 for the 2025 model year. The T9 Series now covers the 425 to 645 rated engine horsepower range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"986\" height=\"740\" src=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/New-Holland-T9.655-986x740.jpeg\" alt=\"New Holland T9.655 Tractor\" class=\"wp-image-3681\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/New-Holland-T9.655-986x740.jpeg 986w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/New-Holland-T9.655-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/New-Holland-T9.655-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/New-Holland-T9.655-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 986px) 100vw, 986px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">New Holland T9.655 Tractor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the six models for 2024, the T9.470, T9.520 and T9.580\u2019s 12.9 litre engines have been changed to an electronic variable geometry turbo (eVGT) to boost horsepower, improving fuel economy by 2 per cent. The three other models, which are wide-frame models (the T9.615, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/new-holland\/model\/t9655\"><strong>T9.655<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/new-holland\/model\/t9700\"><strong>T9.700<\/strong><\/a>) also use the 12.9 diesel but sport two-stage turbocharging \u2014 fixed geometry, first stage and wastegate second stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) has been increased across all six of the new T9 models: 56,000 pounds (25,401 kilograms) for the smallest three and up to 67,000 pounds (30,391 kilograms for the T9.700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buyers get a choice of two transmissions for all but the top two models, which are only available with: the Ultra Command 16 X 2 powershift. The others can be ordered with the optional&nbsp; Auto Command CVT as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total T9 hydraulic flow rates can be boosted up to 113 g.p.m. (427 l\/m). A large coupler is available for very high flow demands and tractors can be equipped with up to eight remotes. The remote valve controls on the Sidewinder Ultra armrest are customizable and can be arranged to control whichever remotes the operator prefers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Genesis T8 with PLM Intelligence series wheeled models get five to 15 horsepower ratings boosts for 2025, with five models from 325 to 435. There are also the 410 and 435 horsepower SmartTrax models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on the model, T8s offer a choice of an 18 X4, 19 X 4 or 21 X 5 Ultra Command full powershift transmission or the brand\u2019s CVT. T8s have the 8.7-litre FPT Cursor 9 engine under their hoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course just like the T9s, the T8s with PLM Intelligence offer the highest level of digital connectivity the brand has ever offered. PLM Intelligence allows for remote tractor diagnostics, remote viewing, data collection and sharing, among a host of other functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two tractors in the T7 Series now break the 300 rated engine horsepower mark, the T7.315 and T7.340 Heavy Duty with PLM Intelligence models. Both use the 6.7-litre FPT engine mated to the brand\u2019s 50 km\/h-capable Auto Command CVT transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/listings\/manufacturer\/new-holland\/category\/tractors\/subcategory\/300-hp-or-greater\">See all New Holland High-Horsepower Tractors for sale<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">John Deere<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/john-deere\"><strong>John Deere<\/strong><\/a> currently offers three tractor ranges with models rated above 300 engine horsepower, three in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/listings\/manufacturer\/john-deere\/category\/tractors\/subcategory\/300-hp-or-greater\/series\/7R\"><strong>7 Series offering 310 to 350 horsepower<\/strong><\/a>, and 12 in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/listings\/manufacturer\/john-deere\/category\/tractors\/subcategory\/300-hp-or-greater\/series\/8R\"><strong>8 Series<\/strong><\/a>, all of which use the brand\u2019s 9-litre diesel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The big news for John Deere in 2024 was the introduction of the three very-high horsepower <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/equipmentcorner\/model\/john-deere-9rx-series-tractors\/\"><strong>9RX models<\/strong><\/a> that offer 710, 770 and 830 horsepower (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/john-deere\/model\/9rx-830\"><strong>9RX 830<\/strong><\/a>), making them the largest production models currently available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Scott Garvey and the John Deere 9RX 830 at Ag in Motion 2024 #aim24\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QPDfjh-5Dk4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Scott Garvey and the John Deere 9RX 830 at Ag in Motion 2024<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The articulated 9 Series tractors up to 640 horsepower get Deere\u2019s 13.6-litre JD14X diesel under the hoods. This engine produces 13.5 per cent more power than the 13.5-litre engine it replaced, takes up less real estate, runs significantly quieter and drinks seven per cent less fuel. That engine gets mated to the brand\u2019s e18 (18F x 6R) 40 km\/h-capable power shift transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"986\" height=\"740\" src=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/John-Deere-9RX-830-986x740.jpg\" alt=\"John Deere 9RX 830 Tractor\" class=\"wp-image-3683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/John-Deere-9RX-830-986x740.jpg 986w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/John-Deere-9RX-830-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/John-Deere-9RX-830-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/static.agdealer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/John-Deere-9RX-830.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 986px) 100vw, 986px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">John Deere 9RX 830 Tractor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The three big, new tractors get an all-new John Deere 18-litre engine mated to the e21 powerShift transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8 Series tractors get Deere\u2019s 9-litre diesel for power. They use the brand\u2019s Intelligent Power Management system to boost output by up to 35 horsepower during PTO or transport work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2023 model year introduced 410 horsepower 8R, 8RT and 8RX models with a step-less electric variable transmission (EVT). Deere says that design enables precise speed control and enhanced drivability. They\u2019re also available with the e23 power shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EVT uses electric motors instead of hydrostatic motors to improve transmission performance and to the operator it will feel much like an Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT), only much quieter. Deere says it will provide better overall tractor control, along with easy serviceability and diagnostics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other transmission options in the 8 Series include the brand\u2019s 40- or 50-km\/h capable IVT, as well as the e23 and 16-speed power shifts. The optional CommandPRO control is available on 8 Series tractors equipped with the EVT or IVT transmissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three largest 7 Series models, the 7R 310, 330 and 350 also break the 300 horsepower mark. They use Deere\u2019s 9.0-litre diesel as well and the 330 and 350 are available with the choice of an e23 (23F x 11R) or IVT transmission. This time a QSL9 mated to a 16 X 9 powershift for all five tractors in the series. All have a total hydraulic flow of 55 g.p.m. (208 l\/m), or 72 g.p.m. (272 l\/m) with the optional hi-flow hydraulic system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make hooking up to implements a one-person job, the drawbars on MFWD tractors are equipped with an auto hitch pin that will automatically drop into place when hitches line up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Versatile\u2019s CBX telematics package now coordinates data from both the tractor and Cummins engines, offering advanced diagnosis and remote machine management functions on a single dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the past growing season, Versatile and its technology partner Mojow have been conducting field trials of a concept autonomous four-wheel drive on a Saskatchewan farm. Together, those models offer 334, 357 and 391 advertised PTO horsepower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the hoods of all 900 Series models is an 8.7-litre, six-cylinder FPT diesel engine. Mated to that engine is a CMATIC four-range continuously variable transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/manufacturer\/claas\"><strong>CLAAS<\/strong><\/a> has also been offering the unique rigid-frame <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/agdealertv\/6333088569112\/claas-xerion-in-tractor-ride\"><strong>four-wheel drive Xerions<\/strong><\/a>, which until this year were available in just two different models, the 517 horsepower 5000 or 476 horsepower 4500. The wheeled versions come with 42-inch, 800-70R42 duals, which Claas claims is the largest tire currently available in the industry for production high-horsepower ag tractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The newest Xerions can deliver a high hydraulic flow, which maxes out at a whopping 142 g.p.m. (537 l\/m) with the optional three-pump system. Four priority remotes can be used to keep essential systems like air drill fans running at optimum speed. In fact, far from it. Along with those models that can be ordered with more basic features, there is a lot of technology that can be packed into many of the brand\u2019s traditional red and grey tractors as well. They offer buyers a wide range of technology levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In late August 2024 Agco debuted the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agdealer.com\/equipmentcorner\/model\/massey-ferguson-9s-series\/\"><strong>9S models<\/strong><\/a> at the Farm Progress Show in the U.S. First introduced at Agritechnica in 2023, the 9S line will include six models in the 285 to 435 horsepower range, pushing up at the top of the horsepower range offered by Massey. It can also store several headland management turn profiles. They made their North American debut at the U.S. Farm Progress show in August that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key feature introduced on those tractors is the FendtONE operator station. It provides individually customizable control arrangement for the tractor and implements to meet the specific needs of the operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1000 Series models use two separate hydraulic pumps, with a maximum combined flow rate of 430 l\/m. And the tractors can supply two different pressure and flow rates simultaneously from each one. A self-cleaning air filter system uses on-board compressed air to periodically blow out the filter, extending filter life by up to 15 times compared to standard intakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wheeled 900 and 1000 Series tractors get power from six-cylinder MAN engines (a 9-litre in the 900 Series and a 12.4 in the 1000s). Equipped with the Fendt iD low engine speed concept that works with the tractor management system (TMS) and Fendt\u2019s signature VarioDrive continuously variable transmission, the tractors have a maximum engine operating speed of just 1,700 RPM. There are now four models in the 511 to 673 horsepower range in the 1100 Vario MT Series, powered by a 15.2 litre engine; and there are three others in the smaller 380 to 431 horsepower 900 Vario MT Series, which use the seven-cylinder 9.8 litre diesel engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, Agco introduced the ErgoSteer retrofittable joystick control option for 500 to 1000 Series tractors. Easily installed in late model machines it allows the operator to steer the tractor with a joystick mounted on a left-hand armrest, rather than use the steering wheel. It\u2019s available as a kit from Agco parts. The system was recognized for an AE50 award from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In early 2024 Agco debuted its prototype Outrun autonomous conversion kit. In its expected initial release, it will be compatible with high-horsepower Fendt tractors as well as John Deere 8R models. But only the largest model, the 9340 gets imported into Canada. It has a rating of 336 maximum horsepower. The MaxiVision cab 2 gets a lighting package using LED work lights. Inside the cab is a colour 12.8-inch iMonitor 2.0 and upholstered leather seating. And for a smoother ride, pneumatic cab suspension is standard on these tractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 9 Series come equipped with a suspended front axle too. It offers a tight 50 degree turn angle with power disc brakes for improved stopping capability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rear three-point hitch lift capacity comes in at 12,000 kilograms. Front hitch lift capacity is 5,000 kilograms. The 9340 includes with a built-in guidance package, and its fully ISOBUS compatible. So it\u2019s TIM (Tractor Implement Management) ready. A fold-out cooling package and easy access to filters make maintenance chores a little easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tractors\u2019 appearance is the result of styling developed in collaboration with the design studio Italdesign Giugiaro. And if you want to look under that stylish hood, no heavy straining is necessary. For safety, they use a dual-line hydrostatic steering system, and the Rapid Steer option reduces the number of steering wheel turns from lock to lock by 50 percent to make field operations easier. Built for McCormick by ZF, the VT-Drive has three operating modes, automatic, manual and PTO. It can even be set to maintain speed and engine settings by automatically adapting to changing load conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closed-centre hydraulic pump provides 56 g.p.m. (212 l\/m). An additional 30 g.p.m. ( 115 l\/mn) pump supplies dedicated flow to the steering system. Tractors can be equipped with up to six electronically-controlled rear remotes, as well as two more at the front. The transmission and hydraulic fluids are kept in separate sumps to prevent cross contamination and help ensure driveline oil levels remain at the proper levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rear three-point hitch has a lift capacity of 26,450 pounds (12,000 kilograms) and a front hitch is also available. It gets a lift rating of 11,000 pounds (5,000 kilograms). A front PTO is also an option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A suspended front axle is standard equipment on the X8s and the tractors are compatible with the brand\u2019s L88 front-end loader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The McCormicks have fully compatible ISOBUS connectivity to make digital communications with implements seamless. They also have a Category IV rear three-point hitch with a 9,000 kilogram lift capacity. A dedicated hydraulic pump provides a 21 g.p.m. (79 l\/m) flow to the tractor steering system, and they are auto-steer ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unique to the North American tractor market is the old-school front leaf-spring axle suspension used by the K-744. The tractors also have a suspended cab for improved operator comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The K-744s use an air brake system, getting pressure from a Bendix pump. And it can also be used as external compressed air source.
