U-Drain was designed specifically with all those considerations related to concrete floor drainage in mind.  It replaces the traditional grate with a pre-engineered slotted trench system with an easily accessible catch basin. The slotted system was designed to eliminate the problems associated with drainage grates, which tend to bend and deform over time. This not only makes them difficult to lift and replace, but they also protrude above the floor. The slotted system maintains a sleek, level and unobtrusive profile day after day once you have integrated the reinforcement and poured the concrete around it. 

Structural integrity

Made of galvanized steel and stainless steel, U-Drain easily outperforms plastic pipe systems, which can chip or crack during transport. The system is designed to transfer the load from the top of the drain to the surrounding concrete. The strength of the commercial and residential systems is certified CSA and ASME for heavy-duty use, including airport traffic.  The safe service load capacity exceeds 10,000 lbs. or 1,040 psi. The zinc galvanizing coating and the stainless steel 304L or higher finish provide excellent protection against bacteria, rust and corrosion.
