	About Us In 1837, John Deere, an enterprising country blacksmith forged a special plow in his shop in Grand Detour, Illinois. Made from a discarded saw blade, the plow allowed settlers to cultivate the sticky soil and transform the prairie into fertile farmland. Our company is guided today, as it has been since its beginning, by John Deere's original values of quality, innovation, integrity and commitment. How to get here From Hwy #401 go North at Exit 632 (Joyceville Road) to Woodburn Road. Then east 4.5km to White Church Road From Hwy #15 travel east on Woodburn Road. 7.5km to White Church Road. Look for the signs!
